Charge 6 inaccurate high heart rate at church

Whenever i am at my church, my fitbit shows my heart rate extremely high 170 to 190 at times.  I have a pacemaker and have confirmed that this is an inaccurate reading.  I get high heart warnings all the time while I am there.

My friend also has a charge 6 and she gets the same high readings st church.   I would like to know how to stop this because it throws all my numbers off.  It was also really scary until I found out my heart wasn't really beating that fast

Hello and welcome to the Fitbit Community, @bweaver56.

Thanks for letting me know about this situation with the heart rate tracking whenever you're at church using your Charge 6.

This is peculiar since it once happens while you're in there, my best recommendation would be for you and your friend to check this article and follow the steps and suggestions that appear in there, I'm positive it will help you.

I went to that page. The only thing I could see that might help would be
turning the heart monitoring feature off and on. However, when I go to the
Heart Rate page on my Fitbit, there is no On/Off button. There was an
option to turn on and off the AFib notification and ECG. I turned off
AFib, but not finding a way to turn off ECG. I'm now trying to figure out
how to turn the AFib procedure back on.

Am I understanding you have not had anyone else with this issue? That
seems strange to me.

Hello @bweaver56

I believe turning Heart Rate on/off is done from the Settings tile on your Charge 6.

  • Swipe down from the clock face until you see the Settings tile (last one) and tap on it
  • Swipe up to find Heart Rate. It should be enabled. Tap on it to turn it off.

Just remember to turn Heart Rate back on. Otherwise, you won't get your sleep data since the heart rate sensor (green light on the back of the device) is needed to track your sleep.

This help page has the instructions on how to turn on AFib notifications (<-- click link)

There isn't a way to "turn off" ECG. ECG is an app that you can use on your Charge 6. This help page has the information about Fitbit's ECG app (<-- click link)
