I recently bought my Fitbit Charge 6 (about 3 weeks ago) and I use it for tracking my exercises (biking, tennis, and gym). The rest of the time, it is on my nightstand waiting to be used. The following has already happened to me twice:
I charged Fitbit and used it for my biking day, which had a 99% battery life. Used the Biking exercise timer for a couple of hours and turned it off after exercise. Battery life was at 96% and I left it on my nightstand. 5 hours later I received an email that my Charge 6 battery is low. I read the email 2 hours later after receiving it and checked my Fitbit and it was off. The battery had gone from 96% to 0% in hours. I connected it to its charger and it has started to charge from 0%.
Why has this happened?
Just to let you know:
1) I had turned on GPS location as Always (on phone).
2) Background app refresh was on
3) Display turns off by itself after 15 seconds.
4) Notifications are on (Calls, Texts and Calendar events)
Points 1, 2 and 4 are now off. Even though those points were on, this should not happen. Any ideas?
Moderator edit: clarified subject.

Hi @GonzFonz. Welcome to the community forums.
Thank you for taking the time to share this information regarding the behaviour of your Charge 6.
I'd recommend you try to restart the device as indicated in the article: How do I restart my Fitbit device?
In addition, please make sure to follow the steps listed here: Can I extend my Fitbit device's battery life?

I'm having a similar problem. I got my Charge 6 in September. The battery was lasting a solid week. I was very pleased.
Then, in the past week, the battery went to 3 days, 2 days, 1 day. Each time I charge it, I leave it until it is fully charged. Then I wear it until it is at about 10%.
I did not change any settings in the last week.
Anyone else having a similar issue?
I did a reset today. I’ll see if that makes a difference.
I checked the firmware version and it has the latest.
Thank you

I have an update:
On Nov 20th I contacted FitBit support. They gave me these instructions:
Do a battery test. The steps are:
First, restart your device. Then, Turn off features that can drain the battery faster like alarms, notifications that you do not need, reminders to move, always on display feature, Built-in GPS or animated clock faces. After this, kindly charge your device to 100%, wear it and let it discharge to 0% or as close as possible to this value. During the process, sync your device constantly. Do this for at least 2 cycles. After this, please contact us back with your case number xxx so we can analyze in a more detailed way your battery behavior.
I followed these instructions. The first day I realized that the heart rate monitoring was also off. I turned that back on because it is an important metric for me.
I'm pleased to report that I'm still on my first charge. This morning I'm at 18% after 6 full days. The unfortunate part, I have all notifications turned off.
I'll report back in after the second cycle and after I've turned certain notifications back on.

My latest update. The next two charging cycles my Fitbit battery drained faster each time. I contacted support and they agreed that something was not right. They checked my warranty period. My device was still under warranty. They provided a UPS shipping label. I sent my Fitbit to them and they sent me a new one. I received the new one today. I’ve charged it and set it up. Hopefully, the battery life is good.
