Welcome to the Fitbit Community, @Figman63.
Thanks for letting me know about this situation in regards to the syncing and sleep tracking of your Charge 6.
I recommend you to try the steps in the article 'Why won't my Fitbit device sync?' whenever your Charge 6 has this situation with the syncing.
Also, in regards to the sleep tracking, make sure to correctly wear the Charge 6 and next time, before you go to sleep, restart your Charge 6 just to make sure everything is ok.
Let me know how it goes, please.

I understand that you need to tell people the basic steps of making sure the Charge 6 is tracking sleep, but you're not providing any solutions beyond these. This device/app simply WILL NOT do what it's supposed to regarding sleep tracking. Yes, I've restarted the device, logged in and out of the app, deleted the app and re-installed, but none of this works and I can't find a solution anywhere. Please stop putting the responsibility solely on customers and address this issue directly. At this point, I regret my purchase (I've had my Charge 6 for for six months+) and wish I could get a refund. That's unfortunate because I really like it, but I bought it to ACCURATELY track sleep and that isn't happening, not even a little. Very frustrating!

Same thing here with no help from Fitbit. I have been a loyal Fitbit user and fan for 10 plus years but I’m at a breaking point. These devices just don’t work anymore. I have multiple years of sleep scores almost every night, I was even a sleep score tester in the beginning before it officially came out. I had a versa 4 that stopped giving a sleep score in January. Fitbit actually sent me a new one and after 2 weeks of again no sleep score I switched to a charge 6 being it’s the newest product. In the 3 weeks since I have the charge 6, 1 sleep score. Yes I have reset, I have cleaned the back, I have changed sensitivity to sensitive and normal, I have switched arms. These products don’t work anymore. I wish Google would just tell us look we screwed up these products and we don’t want you to use them anymore. I’m done resetting multiple times per day. Very frustrated from a loyal Fitbit user for as long as I can remember.

I hate to read this.
The ONLY reason I bought a Fitbit was to track sleep and my heart health. In the week I’ve had it, it has only tracked my sleep twice and my heart rate is intermittent at best. To make it consistent I have to tighten the watch soo tight it uncomfortable and leaves marks from the band on my wrist.
When doing google searches it seems a common issue and unless there’s an answer that doesn’t include constantly resetting or manually starting sleep schedule, AND blaming the user it’s going back.
I noticed that, before the Apple Watch was here, Fitbit worked great. After Apple Watch was released (a competing product) the Fitbit experience was awful on iPhone. I eventually bought an Apple Watch 5 to replace the Fitbit.
Now I need to upgrade to a newer watch (Apple Watch 9) but don’t use my Apple Watch for 80% of it’s capabilities (don’t watch videos, make calls, control media, checks emails, etc…) I tried going back to Fitbit. What a Major mistake.
I figured Fitbit has a cheaper initial price, is more fitness focused and after the $20 a month for tracking, its about the same price as an Apple Watch.
I was dead wrong. At least the Apple Watch works. Battery life sucks but so does a device that doesn’t track sleep or heartbeats.

I’ve had the same problem since the beginning. It’s so frustrating. It doesn’t consistently show sleep data. It’s not accurate at all. Shows weird times. I wake up from a dream only for the device to say, NO REM. I did everything you’ve done to no avail. Since the new update it’s worse. I wish I could get a refund also. I bought this mostly to keep a sleep log. I don’t know what to do. This watch sucks. I’m sorry for us.

Nothing works. Tried everything Fitbit recommended and still sleep data doesn’t work properly. Wake up dreaming, tells me no REM, no deep sleep. Had an Apple Watch but too many capabilities that I don’t use. Bought charge 6 thinking it would be great for sleep and steps. Nope. Wrong. If I shake my arm it counts as steps. I could be laying down moving my arm and it’s counting like steps. Sleep tracker is a joke. I wish someone, somewhere would make a simple watch that works!!!! So disappointed in this watch.

I bought mine last Sunday it did not record my sleep I turned up sleep sensitivity and it has worked perfectly since in the app. The phone sleep display does not seem to work with out a restart but not sure that matters

I have had my charge 6 for about 3 weeks. At first it seemed ok with the sleep tracking, with the occasional glitchy night with only simplified readings. But then this became every night. I have tried ALL the fixes I could find on line: wear it as tight as possible, restart it, try the sensitive setting, try the normal setting, make sure it's charged up, wear it on the inside of my wrist etc etc etc. Nothing works so far. It's disapointing that this forum doesn't really offer any help either, just more stories like mine. How about a real fix for this obvious problem?

We’ll said. I have done everything FitBit has told me to do and mine will not track my sleep or automatically sync. I have to sync it manually every day.

Same here. I think this my sixth fitbit. I know how they work, and mine is not working properly. It is not operator error.

Alas! I am sorry yours is also plagued with glitches. Perhaps they will have a magically awesome update that will correct all this. We can hope ….

I’ve been using a fit bit for 10 years. I know how to wear it. The sleep function worked on my older FitBits. You need to look into this on your end. Read all of the comm ya out how a lot of features don’t work in the Charge z

I have had this problem for 5 days.
Data is transferred for steps but not sleep. A red :exclamation_mark: appears next to sync. Clearly for data to be picked up it must have synced. Only sleep fails to record.
Above advice followed but no improvement. Do not wish to lose over one years data from reinstalling app.
Please advice extremely disappointed.

If your tracker isn't syncing, then of course the fitbit server will not be able to determine sleep.
As for non sync issues. Unless like the known period on June 19. In which case we had to wait. There will not be a one size fits all to fix a sync issue.
Clearing the Fitbit cache on the phone, often helps. On android, stopping the the App through settings, or clearing data (Requires the user to accept permissions and to log back in)

I have tried everything as instructed. Reboot-restart-recharge to max. Installed, uninstalled, adjust to wrist, you name it - and it's still not providing sleep score or provides no sleep date for any period since I purchased. Additionally, it no longer provides breathing rate or heart rate variability. This part - just stopped working period. Do I send it in for repair? I am so disappointed.

I did what you requested and never got to a chat line. Just give me their phone number. What a waste of my valuable time.
