Hi @RickBSDWelcome to the Fitbit Community! It's great to have you here!

Allow me to help you sync your Charge 6.

Follow the troubleshooting steps listed in our help article Why won't my Fitbit device sync? below the section "Fitbit devices" if you haven't done so. Note that your Fitbit device must remain near your phone to sync.

I hope you will be able to sync your Charge 6 and get you back on track !

Regarding "Note that your Fitbit device must remain near your phone to sync." -- The reality is that I don't sleep near my phone and it seems once I lose my BT connection the "sync" goes and stays dead until I restart my phone. Is that normal?

Been thinking a bit more.  My Charge 6 is only a few days old. Absolutely no sync problems for 2 days. Then next two days cannot sync each morning.  I just realized that one change that I am now remembering is that my Pixel phone got upgraded to Android 15 two days ago.  Coincidence? That's the new info that I'm passing on to help figure of why Sync worked great for 2 days and dead the next 2 with Android 15 upgrade in between.

An update.  Last night I tested the theory of losing BT connection overnight if Fitbit and phone are apart for a long duration. I kept the phone at bedside on Silent Mode all night.  Result ... no sync problem with the phone app.  I am suspecting that Android 15 did something with the Bluetooth. I will test for a few more overnights to see what outcome I get with phone nearby and phone away downstairs.

Hi @Old_Unfit It's great to see that you've visited the Fitbit Community!

In fact it is true that your Charge 6 must remain near your phone to sync. However, it is not necessary that your device remains connected to your mobile all the time.

For more details about this topic, i suggest that you check our help article How do Fitbit devices sync their data?

On the other hand, it's pretty valid the fact that some changes might have had place during the update of your mobile. This kind of issues should be easily resolved by following the tips in our help article Why won't my Fitbit device sync?

I hope these pieces of information will be useful for you !

I have Charge 5, and my wife has Charge 6 and has Fitbit body scale FB203, and all of the three devices have this loosing connection problem, so we have to restart our phones every time it happens. I used to have Pixel 4, then upgraded to Pixel 8, and both behaved the same, so apparently it's not an Android OS version problem. It happens every few days from the day we got the devices, for almost a year already. We just got used to it, but restarting the phone takes time, so it's not very convenient, so I wish Fitbit looked into the glitch in their software and maybe someday fixed it.
