Charge 6 not tracking distance on partners watch

He added a stride length instead of automatic tracking and it started tracking distance for him, but when he switched back to automatic it stopped again.

I know he could just use the stride length, but it's really puzzling that even though our settings are the same, mine is tracking but his isn't. We both have a Charge 6 and mine is even a few months older. Does anyone have any idea what could be going on? It's driving me insane trying to troubleshoot it!

His GPS settings are dynamic, as are mine. Have tried both with and without the phone, and nothing helped. He also has a brand new phone, got it today, and still not working on that.

Thank you

Hello @lumiktu1 and welcome to the Community.  This is a new bug and it isn't affecting users in a typical pattern.  Most bugs are platform specific.  I know an iOS user who has it.  Neither I nor my husband has it.  I recommend keeping the automatic stride length off until this is fixed.

Do you use Android or iOS?

GPS distances aren't affected.  They use measured GPS distance.

Hello @lumiktu1

I noticed that your post is very similar to this one.

This issue has been escalated to the Fitbit team.

Would you please let us know which phone your partner is using with the Charge 6? That will be helpful information for the issue investigation.

I have had the exact same problem start up on my charge 6 yesterday. I use an apple phone.

Same issue here.  Finally received my Charge 6 after 4 weeks.  Everything was working until fine until yesterday when distance stopped tracking.

I'm on iPhone 15 iOS version 17.5.1.  Is it only iOS users reporting this issue?

Hello @DaisyWalker

I think the distance issue is affecting both iOS and Android users. The Fitbit team is aware of the issue.

The original poster noticed that distance started tracking when they turned off automatic stride and manually setup their stride length. Some of the users who are experiencing this issue have reported that this workaround is working for them and they are seeing distance being tracked.

If you would like to try this, this help article has the information on how to set your stride length in the Fitbit app  (<-- click link)
