Hi, @Reeann53william the message means to download the Fitbit app on your phone. You do this from the Play Store if you use an Android phone and the App Store for iOS. Once you have downloaded the app, you will need to set up a Fitbit account. Once your Fitbit account is set up you will be prompted to set up a Fitbit. From that point follow the on screen instructions in your app on the phone to connect your new Fitbit to your account. If you need more help you can always get some assistance here. Hi, @Reeann53william , apologies. It was not at all clear from your original post what you had already tried. Someone may be able to help you with this with some further information.
First, what phone are you using to connect to your Fitbit?
I understand from what you have said that you have set up a Fitbit account and are trying to connect to a new Charge 6. Are you getting any error messages in the app when you try to connect? Can you tell us what they are and at what point you are getting stuck?

Hi, @Reeann53william , the message on your watch means that you need to download the Fitbit app on your phone! (You cannot download it on the watch itself!). If you are using an iPhone you need to go to the iOS App Store. If you have an Android phone you need to go to the Google Play Store. Search for Fitbit and you will find the app you need.
Once downloaded on your phone you need to set up a Fitbit account you need to set up a Fitbit account and then follow the instructions on your phone in order to connect your new Fitbit and get it working.
Have you downloaded the Fitbit app on your phone and set up a Fitbit account so that you can proceed?
Once you have done that, if you are still having issues, please let us know what phone you are using and whether you are seeing any error messages. Someone can help you with a little more information.

I am having the same problem @Reeann53whilliam is having. I have downloaded the fitbit app to my iphone 15, and have followed the instructions on the google app as well, and the fitbit 6 keeps prompting me to download the fitbit app.

Hi, @evesep , if you have downloaded the Fitbit app and set up your account on the iPhone then it sounds like your iPhone and your Fitbit are not yet communicating with each other. Have you had any error messages on your phone to help us discover the issue? At what point are you getting hung up? (I am a little puzzled by you have “followed the instructions on the google app as well” - Fitbit and Google are now the same, so there is only one app that should be giving you instructions.)

Welcome to the Fitbit Community, @Reeann53william, @evesep. I'll be glad to assist with your Charge 6 message query.
When you get the message to download the app, it's needed to also pair the Fitbit with the account again. Since you already downloaded the app, follow these instructions:
@Julia_G, thank you for your assistance.

The problem was that the Fitbit 6 watch itself needed updating! On the Fitbit app, I had to click on the upper left hand where the battery icon was and only then did it prompt me to update the Fitbit 6. After that, it worked.

@Reeann53william if you want help, you will need to give us some more information. What phone are you using to set up your Fitbit? Where are you getting problems? What error messages have you seen?
Please could you describe in a little more detail what you have tried and when you seem to be having issues? I am sure someone could help if we could have a little more insight into what the problem is!
