Charge 6 stopped working

A few days ago it seemed like my Charge 6 (about 14 months old) wasn't holding a charge very long, and then it just stopped working - screen went totally black. Tried resetting it by holding the side button for 10 seconds and screen would come on for a second and go off. Tried plugging it in and pressing the button on the charger 3 times and I could get the face to come on and could see the charge go up but as soon as I take it off the charger it goes off. I have spoken with Fitbit 3 times and tried various trouble shooting - in the end I was told I need to run the update on my phone which I have now tried to do multiple times - I will plug the Fitbit in, hit start update on my phone, and my phone will indicate that it is updating but even when I left it like this overnight the next morning the update hadn't gone through. The last time I called Fitbit they told me I need to buy a new one. Any other suggestions? I'd rather not fork out another $160 for a device I bought just over a year ago (just out of warranty). Only other thing that might be relevant is I think at some point I bought a new charger and don't know if it is an actual Fitbit charger. I did clean the charger with alcohol and a soft cloth while trouble shooting. Thanks!

Hi there, @SteveR23. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for bringing this to my attention and for the troubleshooting steps you've tried. I'm sorry to hear that your Charge 6 is still not working. I understand your concern and how you must be feeling.

Even though I truly appreciate you took the time to come here and express your feelings towards your experience with your Charge 6 and also want to find a resolution to your issue, my best advice is to keep the conversation with our Support Team since there's nothing left we in the community can suggest other as all troubleshooting steps have been exhausted.

If you have any questions regarding the outcome of your case, you can also see fitbit.com/legal/returns-and-warranty. Note that our products are indeed designed and made to last (this goes for each product component) however, there is not an infallible way to ensure that no issues will be present in the long run. Because of this, our Warranty Policy  is set into providing as much coverage as we can.

Thanks in advance!
