Charge 6 will not take a charge

My Charge 6 will again not take a charge, so I checked for a phone app update which there was one available for version 4.4. Now within the updated phone app, it says there is an update available for the Charge 6. When I attempt to update tracker, it cannot update because there is no battery left.

Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums, @fitgnomie.

Thank you for letting us know about the issue you're experiencing with your Charge 6 and for outlining the steps you've already taken!

Let's begin by trying these quick fixes:

  • Check both ends of the charging cable for secure connections
  • Try a different USB port or certified UL wall charger
  • Clean the Fitbit and charging cable contacts
  • Restart your Fitbit device
  • Try a different charging cable, if available
  • If the battery was completely drained, allow it to charge for an hour or two after you try the steps above.

If you are able to charge the device again, let's try following the steps described here to update the firmware.

I have tried all of the below. Tracker is still unresponsive

  • Check both ends of the charging cable for secure connections; DONE
  • Try a different USB port or certified UL wall charger; DONE
  • Clean the Fitbit and charging cable contacts; DONE
  • Restart your Fitbit device
    • Press the button located on the flat end of the charger 3 times with one-second pause between each press. Then wait 10 seconds or until the Fitbit logo appears. DONE
    • Another way to restart your device is to unplug it, wait a second, and plug it back in. Repeat this process 3 times in an 8 seconds interval and then wait 10 seconds until the device restarts. DONE

  • Try a different charging cable, if available; NOT AVAILABLE (Never had a problem with the current cable)
  • If the battery was completely drained, allow it to charge for an hour or two after you try the steps above. ; PLUGGED IN FOR 4 HOURS
