Charge 6 won’t log in with Google account

I have a new Charge 6. 
I am unable to login using my gmail account on an iPhone 15. Keeps giving me “Something Went Wrong” error and telling me to go back. 
App is up to date. I am logged in to my gmail in other Google apps on the same phone and the email is active. Fitbit support was no help on the phone. Told me to go to Google support and Google support has no known phone to contact and prompted me to post it here. At this point I’ve had this new watch for a month and unable to login or sync it and I’m bout to return it if this can’t be resolved.
