Charge 6 won't track exercises and heart rate

Had my Charger 6 48 hours now. Number of workouts successfully logged: ZERO. It keeps locking up. This thing does everything except the two things I want a fitness tracker to do, Track my exercises and heart rate. I don’t think it is doing any of the other fancy stuff my charge 4 did either. Thinking of returning it. What experience have other users had trying to return?

In terms of the experience for returns, nobody here can really answer that for you.  That all depends on where you purchased the device.  If you want a return, you will have to go back to the original retailer and follow their policies.

Hi there, @Bill-Baggins@DramaQueenDiva Thanks for your help.

@Bill-Baggins Thanks for letting us know about your Charge 6. I'm sorry you've gone through this experience and before checking other options, let's try getting your tracker working correctly. In regards to the heart rate, please make sure to wear it snug on your wrist as having it too tight or loose will affect the heart rate sensors. More suggestions can be found here

About your other question, do you mean that the workouts initiated aren't logging correctly? Or are you referring to the Smart track feature not auto-detecting your activities? If you haven't done so, try restarting your tracker and making sure the Fitbit app is updated so all your details can sync correctly.

It seems to be better but because of some life stuff, my runs have become short and infrequent in the last month. Google and Fitbit packed too much into this device. I want a fitness tracker that records my heart rate during workouts and my works reliably, easily, and without hassle. I don’t need meditation, ecg, bill pay, travel planning, TV viewing weather forecasts out to talk to the international space station on my fitness tracker. I wonder how great the Charge 6 would have been if you had focused on improving the reliability of those core fitness areas, heart rate and workout tracking, and left out all the bells and whistles. I figure I have about a year before this breaks to find a better alternative to Fitbit. However it seems as this price point, it is currently the best option.

I'm currently overwhelmed with trying to set mine up.  I really miss the first iteration.  It doesn't even have to display the time.  Just track the heartrate and record automatically.  I do have a workout logged.  I walked at lunchtime.  Every 2 minutes my wrist buzzed and wanted me to confirm that I was walking.  That is not what I want.  I just want the data collected without any nag for confirmation.  I'll delete anything I didn't need saved later.  But I don't want the distraction while I'm BUSY!

I have had mine 30 days and agree the pointless buzzing when running is annoying spam.

I have uninstalled the "Exercise" app.  This afternoon, I shall attempt another walk and see what happens.

Update:  there was no useless buzzing, and the walk autorecorded on the phone app.  It did take a few minutes to show up, but I rarely need the summary immediately.  I am satisfied with this solution.  I also uninstalled nearly all the other apps.  My Fitbit's menu is Home - Notifications - Alarms - Timers.  I left the SpO2 app alone - it is unobtrusive and therefore inoffensive.  I no longer [Have to/Get to] push a button to start a workout, but I rarely started recording a workout manually on my previous device.  YMMV, but I hope I've helped.

I take it back.  Even with the "Exercise" app uninstalled, it felt the need to buzz my wrist with a "walk detected" notification.  I hate this "upgrade".
