Confusion over Charge 6 display about syncing on Android phone

I have a Charge 6 (bought in June 2025). I have the updated app on my Android phone and the fitbit device shows no updates available. I have done all of the usual several times (removed fitbit from app, added it back, powered phone and device off and back on, same with bluetooth and wifi). When trying to sync, there is a green bar at the top that moves across the screen, but stops before going all the way across. It says it is syncing your data. But doesn't appear to complete. If I click on the device icon, I get a display saying Connected to Fitbit, shows a picture of a Charge 6 with Sync your device next to it. To the right it shows some icon and "No info". I have no idea what that means. Below, it shows Phone and says Synced just now. If I touch the display above that showing the device, it says connected with the bluetooth icon next to it, and again an unknown icon with "Unknown". Below that it says Synced 1 day ago. Sync your device.

Of course, I have tried to sync my device multiple times.  Generally, it appears that data is getting synced in that it shows sleep data and exercise data. I don't know what to make of this. Several times when I try to do a sync, it doesn't appear to do anything (and gets no new data).

Hello @Robert490

Some of us users have found that turning off both WiFi and Bluetooth, then turning them back on gets our Fitbit devices syncing with the app.

Please let us know if that helped any.

As I stated in my rather long description, I have tried turning Bluetooth and Wifi off and back on several times. No changes.

Can anybody explain what the two different displays mean. One says Charge 6 "Sync your device", then if you click that, it says "Synced 5 days (sometimes less or more) ago. Sync you device.

But below that first display, it says Phone "Synced just now".

How can one be synced and not the other?

I am having the same issue and regret updating to the 6. This will be the last fitbit ever

Hello @Robert490

My apologies for not seeing that you had already tried turning off both WiFi & Bluetooth without success.

In regard to your latest question about why you see Charge 6 sync & phone sync with different information, I wonder if you set up your phone as a Connected Device. Are the sync displays that you're asking about are on the Connected to Fitbit page? This is the page that opens when you tap the device icon in the upper left of the Today page in the Fitbit app.

In the Devices section on the Connected to Fitbit page, are you seeing Charge 6 and Phone? If so, then that means you added your phone as a connected device. Setting up your phone as a connected device is an option that allows you to track your steps & workouts when you aren't wearing your Fitbit. You see 2 different sync dates since each device syncs separately to the Fitbit app.

BTW, you don't need to have your phone as a connected device unless you want to use this optional feature.

So, yes, it appears that my phone is a connected device. However, I am still confused as to why the information next to the fitbit picture says Sync your device after I just did that, and when I click on that it, it says "Synced 6 days ago" -- the number of days keeps growing. At some point it will appear to have synced. As a connected device the phone has synced -- to what ? -- the fitbit app?  I never enter data on the fitbit app directly; I only gather data from the fitbit device.

Hello @Robert490

When the phone is a connected device, it will sync to the Fitbit app and typically will sync step tracking. If you also had your phone while doing an activity, like walking or running, it might sync that workout to the Fitbit app.

There's one other troubleshooting step that I can think of that you might try is: Remove your Charge 6 from the Fitbit app, then add it back as a new device. This process might be able to clear out whatever is keeping your Charge 6 from syncing all your tracked data to the app.

Please let us know if try this and if it worked for you.

Hi. I have been following this thread as I was having the same issues. I removed my phone as a connection and turned off Bluetooth and wifi as well. Then restarted my phone and charge 6, removed the device and then added it back and for the past 2 days it has been syncing. Hope this solves my problem

I lost my mind when Ai found out that my son had multiple myeloma.

I flew to Arizona, forgot my charger and then bought a new cell phone.

There could be a lot of reasons why I cannot sinc
