Cycling UI is very poor.

I'm cycling and need information such as the current time of day. That information is displayed in a very tiny font on one of the cycling UI pages. The cycling UI is dominated by useless, stupid graphics such as a bicycle. Tell me why I need to see a large bicycle graphic when I know I'm on a f*&'((:g bicycle! Why do I need to see large stylised pointy arrow graphics? I need to see useful cycling information including current time of day. I need that information displayed in a larger font or scrolling.

I'm wondering if there are other brands of sports watch that have clearer UI with only relevant information.

@feathers632 as cyclist who doesn't always use bike computer I can tell you what to look for in the watch for cycling:

  • more data fields on a single screen (not just one metric)
  • connection to external sensors, especially to heart rate monitors. In most of watches HR goes very wrong when on bike if read from wrist. Using external chest strap or arm band the problem is solved and you can attach watch to handlebars so it's always in front of you (and still reads your HR)
  • Good always-on display feature (good visibility, not draining battery much, I prefer MIP screens for that reason as AoD comes for free)
  • [optional] in-watch navigation

Most sports watch brands supports all and more so you will have plenty to choose from.
