Deep sleep while awake

ANSWERED

My Charge 6 logs asleep whenever I am lying down. It even logs as deep sleep whenever I am on my tummy reading a book.  Is the product defective?

Hello @Fitness_Grace and welcome to the Community.  Fitbit uses a combination of lack of wrist movement and certain physiologic data to track sleep and determine sleep stages.  Sometimes I get deep sleep when I'm sitting up watching a movie.  Real sleep in a brainwave diagnosis, so this tracking isn't perfect.  You can edit your sleep log and remove this incorrect data.

Your resting heart rate is probably so low due to your fitness level that it is confusing fitbit. My husband gets the same.

Hi @ioana123   I have a low RHR (42-44) and can get deep sleep when awake, too.  But I think it is more than that.  My lowest heart rates heart rates are usually between 3:00 - 4:00 AM.  My sleep stages tend to show light or REM, not deep sleep at that time.

That is truly low RHR!

That is interesting! I don't know, it was just a theory, I'm not a medical professional.. 🙂
