Hi there, has anyone been able to confirm whether Fitbit watch bands contain PFAS/PFA's following the recent study that tested various wearable bands. I contacted customer service for more information, but unfortunately, the agent wasn’t able to provide any details about which Fitbit bands are free from PFAS. When I asked if the company was aware of the study or taking any action to address this, I was told they were not.
I’m looking for a non-toxic band option, but I want to make sure I’m avoiding all harmful substances—not just PFAS but also other chemicals or toxic coatings. I’m open to exploring any band material that is safe, whether it’s silicone, leather, metal, fabric, or any other material. Has anyone been able to get clarification from Fitbit or found reliable sources regarding the presence of harmful chemicals in their bands?
Thanks in advance for any insights!

Thanks for getting back to us @Massig. Standard bands are made of a flexible, durable silicone similar to that used in many sports watches.
@Runner10001, I already shared the correct information with you.
@otyoga, as @RiekoC, mentioned, you can see my response with the definitive answer.
Thank you for your contribution @RiekoC.

Thanks for this answer, Andrea. Can you clarify though whether this answer is true for all previously available models of Fitbit and Pixel Watch, or just for the products that are currently available on the market?
For example, I have a Fitbit Charge 5 which is no longer sold through the Google Store, can I assume that the strap packaged with this model does not contain PFAS?

Hi Andrea,
What about older models?
My Inspire2 does the job for me but it will go to the bin if it's poisoning me.
Could Fitbit provide a clear list specifying which products contain problematic chemicals?
I believe that consumers deserve this transparency especially when it comes to health products.

What is in various Fitbit bands and/or watches that earns them a CA Prop 65 warning for exposure to harmful substances/chemicals?
Which specific Fitbit products have Prop 65 warnings?

Hi could you please confirm if the Versa 4 band has PFAs? Thanks.

Sorry but "industry standard" is not a good response as that means you are no better than all the others and who knows how bad that is!!!
And why are they not PFAS free? Why are we being sold anything in 2024/25 that has ANY PFAS???!!
The reasoning is convenient, easy and slippery.

There's been recent concern about PFAS contains in smartwatch wrist bands. Do the FitBit Charge 6 bands contain PFAS? I'd like an official answer (not a reference to another thread).

More confused now..
I assume you are referring to:
And take they to mean that Active Bands do contain PFAS. A) why should any knowingly contain PFAS and be sold by Google and not warn that they do AND B) why does Google Store say they are "silicone" which is a material which does not contain PFAS...?

I am unsure which category the versa 4 fits into, hence the question.
Can we have a definitive list of all models that contain PFAs from Fitbit? Not just a category of models that contain them, as this isn’t clear to a lot of individuals.

You have a Fitbit device, no Fitbit devices contain PFAs.
Please read the 2nd post in this thread which lists the devices affected.

Hi,
I am a bit late on this, but I just read about the research from end of last year but many wristbands of smartwatches contain high levels of harmful PFAS. I have an Inspire2 watch and I cannot find any information on the Fitbit website on what material it is made of or whether it contains PFAS. Can someone please point me to where I can find the factual answers?
Best regards,
Tess

Hi @TessInspire2 ! Warm welcome to the community !
I appreciate your message and I understand your concern about PFA's.
I've moved your post to the related thread.
Fitbit device bands and all other Pixel Watch bands do not contain PFAS.
