I have a charge 6 and was wondering whether I need a protector or not. It is a valuable gift for me that is why I was wondering about the importance of a screen protector.

Hey @huckk - I've been using my Charge 6 for the last year without a screen protector and the screen doesn't have any scratches on it. The most damage is actually on the bands - they look worn after a year and have some scratches on it. I personally wouldn't get a screen protector.

Hello @huckk
I think it all depends on your activities and how likely you are to accidentally hit your device against firm objects. If it's not very likely, then you probably don't need a screen protector on your Charge 6.
That said, I got a screen protector for my original Charge 5, mainly because I typically put screen protectors on my phone. I didn't put one on my replacement Charge 5 and have a tiny, slight scratch on the display. It's not too noticeable and doesn't impact usage. But it made me wish that I had put the protector on the screen.

no screen protector on mine not sure its the sort of thing would use a screen protector for. I recall reading somewhere that some people use their charge 6 as screen protector for their apple watch. wearing it over their apple watch to protect the screen

I work on construction sites and damaged my last fitbit with a light impact up against a bare block wall whilst walking out of a building.
I have a silicone protector on the replacement as that makes sense. It makes it a little clunkier to use the touch screen though and connecting the charger isn't as easy but it's a trade off and can be removed in seconds.

Huckk … I use a screen protector on my Charge 4 before upgrading to a Charge 5 … I also use one on this Fitbit as well … well worth the money for the added extra protection. The Charge 5 protector works on a Charge 6 as well. I wear mine on my non-dominant hand and without the screen protector, my face would take a beating!
