Drop down error alert on my Fitbit Home Screen

  • An alert for what looks like a low battery issue is periodically displaying on my fit bit charge 6. It covers the date at the top of the screen.
  • It pops up even after a full charge

Hello @Gk1982 and welcome to the Community.  That is one of the status indicators added in the recent firmware update.  If it is white with a slash, that says you lost your Bluetooth connection to your phone.  Your phone might be out of range or you quit the Fitbit app or something like that.  Some users wrote that they can see that icon when their app is open and their phone is nearby.  If this is happening to you, you can report it to Fitbit/Google in your Fitbit app.  Tap on your profile picture, then Send feedback.

The low battery alert is a red battery with a slash.  The other two are that your DND is on or you are in Sleep mode.  You can turn them off, if you want.  Go to the Settings app on your Charge 6, go to Display, look for Status tray (or Status indicators) and toggle it off.

I noticed this intermittent loss of Bluetooth connection lately as well, even with the phone nearby - and it was also unable to sync. I suspect a phone side issue because it always clears up upon phone restart. Today I attempted to add a new credit card to my watch via the device page in the app, and encountered a red alert saying that I really should update to a more secure Bluetooth version by clicking that alert. (No alert/notification on home page, only after I clicked the device.) I clicked it, and the watch re-paired itself to my phone. We´ll see whether the Bluetooth will become more stable.

@Gryllotalpa   The same firmware has a Bluetooth security update on the Charge 6 and Inspire 3.  This Help article mentions steps to enable it.  But I don't use a Charge 6, so I don't have personal experience.  Glad you figured it out.  The same firmware for the Sense 2 only had the status indicators.
