ECG won't work, saying it can't find phone

I've just downloaded the Fitbit app etc and set it up but it won't do the ECG reading. It's saying it can't find my phone but the phone is connected and when I use the watch and use the find my phone function...it finds it. What am I doing wrong???

Hello @Dee_Nice

Thank you for letting us know that you were able to get the ECG app working.

@dsaga  If you haven't already done so, try uninstalling the ECG app and re-installing it. It might also help to restart the Charge 6 after you've uninstalled and re-installed the ECG app. If you would like instructions on how to access the available apps for the Charge 6, please see page 24 of the Charge 6 manual (<-- click link). Follow the instructions for changing the clock face, but tap on Apps instead of Gallery.

Hi @RiekoC

first of all, thank you for the brief description of the solution, which was also suggested by Dee_Nice. I came into this thread because I was originally looking for a solution to the following problem on my Charge 6: I keep getting a message appear saying "We were unable to update/install one or more apps. Please try again".

I also think this is specifically related to the ECG app because, I checked all permissions and they are there but a pop up quickly appeared on the ecg one, so sounds like it's linked.

But now I have a small/big problem: when I want to uninstall this app (to reinstall it later), it starts, a little time passes, and then it aborts the uninstall. The button to uninstall appears again. I removed all permissions as a test, same result. So I can not fix the problem with the ECG.

Thanks in advance for any possible help.
Kind regards

Hi @africola

I see you used a translation site. Which country do you live in? The Fitbit ECG app isn't approved for use in all the countries. This page lists the countries where the Fitbit app: Fitbit Irregular Rhythm (<-- click link) You'll have to scroll down about 3/4 down the page to see the list of countries.

If you don't see your country listed, that's likely the reason why you're having problems with the app.

If your country is listed, sometimes restarting your device can get it "unstuck" so you can finish uninstalling the app. You can restart your device from the Settings menu on the Charge 6 or by using the charging cable that came with your device. If you would like detailed instructions, see page 53 in the Charge 6 manual (<-- click link)

When I click on 'uninstall', the little pink line moves side to side then a message comes up stating install can't be completed. I also get an error message with 'can't find phone'. I have restarted my Charge 6 umpteen times, re-paired it with my phone, but in my Google (!) phone Bluetooth settings, nothing happens when I click on connect to Charge 6. However, the app does sync. I had the same issue with my Charge 5, although the ECG worked. What is wrong?!!

I had the same problem! I was not able to uninstall the app and was about to repack my newly arrived fitbit and send it back. This was an essential app and decided to get the Fitbit because felt it was better for health instead of the other big smartwatch. Check to make sure your phone (iphone here) is connected--see image. As soon as I did this, and it synced, the magic worked on its own. I hope this works for you. That made all the difference for me. IMG_0386.png

Was having same issue.  I powerd off/on my phone and did a restart on the charge 6.  My egc app now works great.

I just had this issue with my sense 2, instead of unistalling I went on permissions removed permissions then allowed them again, this sort of updated the watch but without unistalling the app. And then it worked again, hope this helps others.
