My sleep schedule is from 10pm to 7am. The Fitbit only records a few hours immediately before I wake in the morning. For example it records from 4am until I wake at 7am but it does not record the hours I slept before 4am. It regularly shows that I sleep for only 2 or 3 hours whereas I actually slept for about 6 hours.

You can edit your sleep time, in your case it sounds like just changing the beginning sleep time. Tap the 3 vertical dots at top right corner of sleep screen to get to edit.
