Feedback on Charge 6 Music Controls & Loss of Features

Dear Fitbit/Google team,

I am writing as a loyal Fitbit user who recently upgraded to the Charge 6, only to discover that the music/media control feature no longer works without a YouTube Music Premium subscription. This is extremely disappointing, especially because:

• The Charge 6 marketing materials and product pages do not clearly state that controlling music playback now requires a paid Premium account.

• Previous Fitbit models offered general media controls for any app (Spotify, YouTube Music free, local players), which worked perfectly and added great value to the watch.

• The removal of such a core feature feels like a downgrade — it takes away a basic convenience many users bought the device for.

• Forcing a subscription to access basic playback control feels like an unfair paywall, especially after the investment in the hardware itself.

I respectfully request that Fitbit/Google:
:white_heavy_check_mark: Reinstate general media controls on the Charge 6, independent of YouTube Music Premium.
:white_heavy_check_mark: Clearly communicate paywall requirements in future marketing materials.
:white_heavy_check_mark: Prioritize keeping core Fitbit features open and platform-agnostic — this has long been part of what made Fitbit great.

Thank you for listening to your customers. I hope the Fitbit team takes this feedback seriously, as many of us genuinely want to keep supporting your devices — but not if they keep losing functionality we’ve come to rely on.

This is mainly a user-to-user community. Although the Moderators are often Google employees, they are not involved in the company's decisions. 

Please consider adding your vote to this feature request in the Feedback forum to add music controls to the Charge 6 (<-- click link). I understand that the developers monitor this forum to see what features are being requested for potential future implementation. 

You can also use the Feedback feature in the Fitbit app to submit your comments:

• Tap on your picture/avatar in the upper right of the Today page in the Fitbit app
• Tap on Feedback in the menu that opens
• Complete the prompts and submit

The Feedback reports are received by the team for review.
