I've been trying to use my Charge 6 to track my HeartRate during Hockey games. The problem is that my hockey gloves are constantly pausing and stopping the workout when they apply pressure to the screen so it keeps saying my workouts are 5 mins long (1 1/2 hour games) and I've been having bad luck with the fitbit auto tracking the workout. (sometimes it separates all periods into different workouts and then it fails to recognize the last 30 mins of work as a workout)
I figured I would just use "water lock" so I've tried starting a workout but once you have a workout started - there is no way to turn on water lock. (unless you pick swimming)
I've tried turning on water lock, then starting my workout - but you can't start a workout without turning off water lock.
Do I really have to select "Swimming" as my workout every time I try to play hockey? Won't putting it on "Swimming" make for wildly inaccurate calculations about steps for something as drastically different than swimming and skating?
How about the ability to turn on water lock without pausing or canceling the workout? Like what if I wanted to go for a run, but it started raining so i need to water lock it but don't want to lose my progress?
Its kind of mind boggling that this is not something that is just possible from the get go.

@IronfangNoja you can enable Water Lock before selecting workout and hope something would be detected by the watch. Putting watch into Swim mode makes no sense (HR is disabled, no relevant meterics - as well you can just take the watch off). Unfortunately, Fitbit hasn't figured out yet that water lock is necessary for any activity + system wide.

Have the same problem with on water rowing. While I hope to stay above water this does not always happen. If I use Workout can't turn on water lock. If just water lock, doesn't record as an exercise session.
