Hi, I've just got the new charge 6 for nearly 3 weeks now. Previously I had charge 2 and 4. It's a nice upgrade from 4 however the bluetooth connectivity is horrendous! Once a week I get a message to "Forget This Device" from the bluetooth list and pair it again with my iPhone (12 mini). This is such an inconvenience and I never had this issue with my charge 2 and 4. Is there any software update to resolve this issue? Thanks

Yes I’ve tried leaving the app open but if my Charge 6 is away from my phone, it fails to reconnect automatically when it’s back within Bluetooth range.

I just got a new Charge 6 a couple weeks ago because my 5's battery suddenly stopped holding a charge. Since I've had this new one it is constantly dropping Bluetooth connectivity, sometimes even when my phone is in my pocket. I'm extremely disappointed and annoyed since this has never been an issue with past models for me. Something needs to change quick or I'll be switching to another brand.

I suggest returning while you have the chance. This issue has been going for over a year. The last update last week may have helped but jury is still out.

The problems are now history. The phone is now running Android 14 and the issue is completely gone. Android 12 is also working fine.
It was the same issue with Fitbit Charge 4, which is now also running fine. Now all in the family is happy 🙂
So stay away from Android 13 if you have a Fitbit. In my case it is Motorola. Other brands maybe not have this issue. I don't know.

Appreciate the reply, but I’m running iOS, not an android. And for the most
part, it’s resolved as long as I open the app a couple times a day, and/or
log food and water in the app.

Bought Charge 6 for wife in April and it will no longer sync with Bluetooth 6 months later. Went through with Fitbit support through all the restarting, quitting, unpairing, repairing, uninstalling, reinstalling, etc. Now I'm getting it replaced, not encouraged by the thread on topic. Originally wanted Apple watch but didn't realized it required a iPhone. We're android. Tried Amazfit but she said it wasn't accurate. This Charge 6 replaced a Luxe that just stopped working.
Hope the replacement lasts...

I got my Charge 6 just over 3 months ago. The bluetooth disconnected some time last night. I cannot get the connection back, I've restarted the Iphone, restarted the watch, and there are no firmware udpates in the app. Disappointed.

I have an iPhone 16 Pro Max and Charge 6 with latest firmware update... still disconnects / notifications won't vibrate. FitBit/Google either fix the device or give us all refunds as this product doesn't deliver the feature as advertised. Can't believe I'm going to have to file another complaint.

I'll give a two thumbs up to Fitbit support who helped me resolve my bluetooth & syncing issues. It required updating the FItbit app, updating the Iphone. It is working now. Yay, thanks for the help!

I recently got the Charge 6 and while I had some issues with the 5, I am having more issues with the 6. I am constantly being dropped from my Bluetooth connection. I have to keep going into my phone settings to see if I'm connected. I shouldn't have to do that. Any suggestions? Thank you!

I bought my new charge 6 Approximately one month ago, and it only will stay synced with my iPhone or my iPad for a day or maybe two at most. These devices are entirely too expensive to be malfunctioning this quickly having to Forget the Device and re-sync with the iPhone and iPad every day or every other day is entirely unsatisfactory. What are the Fitbit or Google people doing to fix this problem?

Thanks much for your response. I am more than disappointed to hear that Fitbit is now providing such poor quality products. Their pricing certainly is now way out of proportion to the quality of their products. When they lasted 2 years with minimal problems, they were worth the price, but that is no longer the case.

I got mine just 10 days after you got yours, and initially had no problem. But recently it’s been dropping the connection multiple times a day, and right now it’s refusing to re-pair as if my phone took my order to “Forget this device” more literally than I intended Tried restarting my phone, and now it doesn’t see my Charge 6 OR my old Charge 2, both of which were paired only an hour ago (or less).

Hello @mojo1160
Although I'm not sure that this will work, try clearing the storage for your Fitbit app on your phone. Then, do a force stop on the app. When you open the Fitbit app, you'll need to log back in. This might clear whatever is preventing your phone from seeing your Fitbit devices. If it does, you should be able to set up your Charge 6 as a new device.

I have had two charge 5’s and I have a charge 6 - all 3 devices have a glitch in the software or something because the have all failed to connect properly to my iPhone consistently. Very annoying problem as each morning and usually at least once a day I have to restart the device to repair the device with the phone. The Charge 5’s both of them died with the blue logo, I did not throw them away I stored them until the battery fully died (about 6 weeks) then I was able to restart them and they worked. I am sure Fitbit knows of the issues with the charge 5 and 6 but does not have a software fix. I cannot fully recommend either of the Fitbit 5 or 6 as a reliable device. Once my frustration hits a certain point I will throw these out and switch to an alternative device from another company- been let down by Fitbit and no longer trust them. The other issue is they are constantly trying to sell my a premium service even after I say no 100+ times, there is no way to turn off these requests. Since there device is unreliable a subscription service would be a huge waste of money.

I bought the charge 6 after my luxe would stop working until it was put on the charger & I would lose whatever sleep, steps, Zone minutes that hadn’t loaded to the app- this happened at least once a day.
My Charge 6 was working great and now I have to have Bluetooth forget the device and pair it to my iPhone again. Sometimes this happens several times a day.
what’s worse is that I usually use my iPad, and when I open Fitbit app on my iPad, it asks me if I want to pair the Charge 6 to the iPad- I say no & it pairs it to the iPad(no pairing code). It doesn’t tell me that it paired it- it just does it and then I struggle to figure out why Fitbit app on my iPhone won’t sync with my Charge 6.
this is very frustrating and wastes a lot of my time. I saw the latest firmware has Bluetooth changes, but it’s not showing as available for me yet 😢
what’s going on? I never had a pairing issue with my Luxe where it would change what device it was paired to unless I was the one who switched which device it was paired to. I wouldn’t expect to have an issue with my Charge 6. Sure hope the newest firmware fixes this issue. Of course it would help if I could install it now instead of having to await until I see update available in the app.
