Did you mean:

Fitbit charge series are being killed by Google.

Ok.  I’ve had fitbits for years,  my account first opened in 2009.  But that’s it, I’m out.  My 16 month old charge 5 (which I got to replace a 2 year old charge 4 whose display had literally faded to black) has died spectacularly after the ‘Google update’ and I’m sick trying to negotiate with the poorly named ‘customer service’ to get a resolution.  It was working perfectly, then overnight I thought it had bricked. Wouldn’t switch on and wasn’t responding to the charger.  Using the ‘click trick’ I did get a response eventually and it appeared to just be flat.  I was sure I’d charged but let it run up to 100% assuming I was wrong.  Yea, I wasn’t wrong.  Less than 2 hours later it was 0% again.  This is a device who the previous day was holding a charge for 4-5 days.  It also wouldn’t sync. Or update.  Or anything tbh.  I contacted the ‘customer Patronisation Centre’ and was given links to tell me how to manage my battery better!  Really?  Wtf?? On re contacting them I was basically told to go get a new one.

So I Did.

Apple Watch series 9.  Does everything my Fitbit did and much more.  No ‘premium fee’ and although it was £400 (ouch) that is less than 3 fitbits in as many years, and as my Daughters watch is still going strong at 4 years old. Probably a money saving tip in the long run.

So goodbye, and thanks for all the fish.
