Fitbit won't always wake when I flick my wrist

  • I got a new Fitbit Charge 6 a couple of days back and it wouldn't wake despite flicking my wrist multiple times. Most times it works, but sometimes, howmuchever hard I try, it doesn't. I've tried restarting multiple times.

Hello @ftbtusr12

One of the things that I've noticed about the wrist flick to wake the Fitbit devices is not to do it very quickly or jerk my wrist. The wake function seems to work best for me when I raise my arm and twist my wrist at a slower, deliberate rate.

My thought is that the wrist twist/flick needs to be slower & deliberate to minimize the number of times that the display turns on when we normally move our wrists. That said, there are still times when I have to turn my wrist a few times to wake up my device. It's all a learning curve.

How do you change the length of time the display stays on after a "wrist. flick"?

Hello @Usmc2143

To change the screen time out setting:

  • Swipe down from the Charge 6 clock face to get to the Settings menu and tap to open
  • Tap on Display settings
  • Swipe up to Screen Time out
  • Tap on this setting to scroll through the time out options: Default, Medium, Long
  • After you selected your preferred setting, continue swiping left or right to return to the clock face
