GPS no longer coming on Charge 6

ANSWERED

My Fitbit charge 6 for some reason is no longer connecting to the gps from the watch so my walking mileage is incorrect. It is set to dynamic or built in but no map is shown within the app. Doesn’t matter if I do a reset the gps is not showing on the watch.
how do I reset this as I want a map to see the distance is being logged correctly

Hi @jlo_1, thanks for being back.

Since restarting didn't fix the problem, try resetting your device to factory  settings.

This will delete any unsynced data, so make sure to sync everything first.

Hey there @jlo_1, welcome back to the community.

I'm sorry for the issues you've been experiencing with your Fitbit Charge 6. I'll be glad to help you out.

To start, let me say thanks for the steps you have taken so far. It is useful to know what you have done. There are some best practices that we recommend to take before starting your exercise.

  • Follow the recommendations for wearing your device for exercise. For more information, see How do I wear my Fitbit device?
  • Try loosening the band 1 notch.
  • Make sure your device doesn't touch your wrist bone.
  • Wait until GPS is connected to start the exercise.
  • If your tracker doesn’t connect to GPS satellites, end the exercise, change the GPS mode to Phone GPS, and start the exercise again. To change the GPS mode, see How do I manage the GPS settings on my Fitbit device?
  • Wait 5 minutes before you start the exercise again.

Please follow these tips and let me know if you get the map again.

Hi,

tried this and I have the gps connecting on bike and other apps just not walking for some reason. GPS when connecting shows the phone icon next to it regardless of which gps setting it is on.
Waited the 5mins still no change on the walk app - no gps connection

@jlo_1 Thanks for clarifying the specific issue.

Now that we can tell that you're only experiencing this issue with the Walking app, it seems to be a one-time glitch.

With this in mind, I recommend restarting the entire watch and checking if the Walking app gets unstuck. Please follow the instructions described here.
