Hi! I’m new to Fitbit and I found this article on Google: https://store.google.com/intl/en/ideas/articles/fitbit-calories-in-vs-out/ about this highly useful function but I can’t find this on my app? Where did this go?

Hi @TBerg_25 That image in your screenshot is from the (now deactivated) web dashboard. The description in @DavidFitbit's link is just the beginning. If you never set a plan before, you will see 'Set up' on the right in the Food tile (where the upper image says 500 cal. deficit). Tap on the Food tile and you will get an option to set a goal that uses a deficit or set a plan where you decide how many calories you want to eat a day. Tap on the 'Help me set a goal option', then enter your starting and goal weight. Tap Next in the upper right to see the app view:
Make your selection and continue on with the rest of the setup.

Hi @TBerg_25, welcome to the Fitbit Community! It's great to have you here!
Let me help you track your Calorie intake.
In the link you have provided, there's a link that will take you to a help article that explains to you how to create a food plan. Here it is:
How do I track my food with the Fitbit app? > How do I start a food plan?
Follow the instructions listed and don't hesitate to come back here in the case your Fitbit app is not shown as stated.

Thanks, but what you described doesn’t provide me the function I’m seeking. I’d love it if I could choose my plan and Fitbit would assist me with my goal, by helping me with tracking the calories in the way as described here (better image in the original link: https://store.google.com/intl/en/ideas/articles/fitbit-calories-in-vs-out/)
