Google Wallet on Charge 6 does not log out after use

ANSWERED

Today I used my Charge 6 to tap and pay after entering my pin into Google Wallet.

There does not appear to be a way to log out of it after use and it does not automatically log out either.

If I tap Google Wallet it goes straight to my card and says "hold to reader"without me having to enter a pin. This is a real security issue if I lose the Fitbit and potentially I could even pay for someone else's purchase if I'm too close! 😂

Am I missing something here? If anyone can tell me how to close it down, I'd be very happy. Thanks.

I think you will find if you take it off your wrist it will reset and need PIN again, making it safe if lost or stolen.  Also needs to be held so close there is no chance you could accidentally pay for someone else; I think it is like about an inch or less away - experiment the next time you use it, try holding it further away and note how close you have to get it, nearly touching.  Also even if you leave it on, it does reset either each night or every 24 hours.

Thank you! You are absolutely correct. I noticed when I went to use it again today, it had reset and I had to enter my pin again, remaining "open" after this too. It wasn't until I read your post just now that it made sense. I had taken off my Charge 6 this morning. I have just removed it again and the wallet reset almost immediately.

I shall experiment with distance, as per your suggestion, the next time I use the wallet function.

Thank you so much for taking the time to answer.

I always check and enter my PIN if needed before I get in line so I don't get there, expecting it to be all set, but have to enter my PIN right at the resister.
