Before buying a Fitbit Charge 6, or other Fitbit products, watch out to the fact that you cannot continue using your Fitbit account, or use a Google Workspace email. A frustration that may users are having.
Google Bard started supporting Google Workspace emails in a few short months. Maybe because the AI race is too important to Google. On the other hand, Google Home doesn't support sharing a household for a Google Workspace email, and this has been the case for years. I feel the same fate will apply to Fitbit users. Google will just shrug it off and not care.
I've been using Fitbit every single day since June 2014. Now I was considering upgrading to Fitbit Charge 6, however got struck that a personal Google account is needed after at least 2025. There is no support to Google Workspace, my one and only Google email. The support team are also clueless, and our voice is not being heard..
I'm going to end my journey with Fitbit. What are you best recommended alternatives to Fitbit Charge series?

I am in the same exact boat and hoping it's not too late to get my money back. I manage a Google Workspace and even use alias e-mail accounts associated with my domain. I pay monthly for this domain and will not be creating another google e-mail account just so I can use a Charge 6. Besides if I did create another Google account, it looks like I would lose all my Charge 4 Premium Account data? Like completely starting over?
I love my fitbit Charge 4 (even though the screen has never really worked). And the data I have accumulated, wow, it would be sad to lose that. Hey fitbit are you listening? Fitbit, can you tell me if there is another fitness tracker company that will allow me to migrate/transfer my existing fitbit data without requiring me to create a new Google Account?
I am also saddened that your post has not been responded to by fitbit? Maybe fitbit is not monitoring this?

I'm confused. Can you confirm that your cannot use a Google Workspace account with Fitbit, or is that what you think it's going up happen?
Health Connect is openly available.

Hi there, @mchebib, @Miko2024 and @Mcav75.
Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts regarding the migration process. As you may know, currently Google Workspace accounts aren't supported to migrate your Fitbit account, meaning that you'll need a personal Google account to complete the process. More information can be found here.
I understand that this is a limitation for you, and I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. We constantly work to improve and make our services useful for you, and the input we receive from our members is a big part of the process.

A personal account for a personal device. TBH it makes sense.

Perhaps but some of us use workplace for personal use. I think the name is a misnomer.
No way I'm going create another google account just so I can add my fitbit. This is what apple stuff sells well, it all integrates.

Ouch, I thought it was just me. I made a simple e mail mistake when try to register my wife's Fitbit 6, I have been on this forum many times over the last two weeks but it has not helped. I am so frustrated YET again that no one gets back to you. I tried the Fitbit helpline number again today and was cut off again.
I looked up to see how many Fitbit users there were. it says 37 million !!! so if a small proportion gets the registration wrong the Fitbit are going to have a major problem with their product in 2025. The support team wont be able to cope. My latest dialogue box below tells me that it now have a google account, but does not seem to recognise my wife's old account.
Please support team can you at least confirm that you have received one of my many many e mails.
See the ,link under cyclingKeith.
LOOKS LIKE YOUR NEW TO FITBIT
we could not find a Fitbit profile associated with this Google account.
If you've used Fitbit before, you can sign in to move your existing Fitbit profile and information to your Google ,account.
"then the option is to sign in as a new user".

I upgraded from a Charge 5 to a Charge 6 a couple months ago. I also use a Google Workspace account as my main personal account. (I own the main account and am the only person on it).
I made the mistake of disconnecting my Charge 6 from the app because it was acting a little odd. I thought if I deleted it and reconnect it to the app, it might fix it, but now I can't reconnect it at all. I wish I had known about about this issue before reconnecting it.
I guess it is time to get an Apple Watch, since the ecosystem just works without many odd limitations like this one.
So annoying 😑.

I am in the same situation. I have used Fitbit since 2014 and have used Google Workspace for my family-domain even longer.
Now I am considering to move to Apple Watch since it looks like Google does not want me as a customer any longer?
I even own shares in Google (Alphabet) so I would normally support the company. But not when they make it so difficult to continue using it.
Maybe it is time to buy some Apple shares... 😉

I am in the same boat. I have not done the “Google Migration” because my Fitbit is currently linked to a workspace email, and workspace emails will no longer be supported for these “new” Fitbit accounts. This is so FRUSTRATING as I am a LONG-TIME Fitbit user, and I have years and years of step/sleep/health data that I don’t want to lose. Data that I look back on quite frequently. And now I’m just going to lose it and be forced to “start over” all because I don’t use a “GMAIL” account?! Come on! This is ridiculous. My workspace email is still a part of GOOGLE, and I pay GOOGLE monthly for it, so why am I being limited in where I can use this WITHIN GOOGLE?! It makes no sense to me.
Google needs to take our complaints seriously and fix this issue before making this “transition” mandatory. It’s one that clearly, so many of us are having.
On top of my frustrations with the whole migration process, I am now losing some functions on my Sense, such as ECG. Is this because I have not done the migration? Is Google going to start limiting the functions I can use if I don’t migrate?!
