I just got the charge 6 and it came with 6 months free membership. When I was setting it up I was prompted to sign up for the premium membership after the free membership with way to exit the screen. I clicked on the yearly. And Fitbit charged me??? I was under the impression that it was for after the free membership was up. Did it happen to anyone else? I’ve disputed it with Apple and will be calling Fitbit first thing Monday. This is unacceptable.

As I stated earlier, apple refunded me already and Fitbit sent a reply stating they would also refund me for the error. It’s obviously a well known problem with the charge 6 launch, hopefully it will be rectified soon so many others won’t experience this !

Update: I received an email from Fitbit this morning apologizing for the error, offering a refund (Apple Pay already did that) and extending the free Premium trial to a full year. Bravo, Fitbit.

I had the same issue, had to get refund from Apple.
Is it me, or is the rollout of the free 6 months needlessly complicated and the Charge 6 functionality half-baked?
I purchased the Charge 6 as a non-Apple watch option and between issues with the Charge 6 communicating with Peloton bike and Charge 6 and Peloton bike both recording the same workout, seems like the functionality is still in beta testing and not fully developed. Fitbit's response is restart the device, which does not fix it.

I have pretty much the same problem. I don't think FREE TRIAL is real--it just gets you to click a button that charges your credit card.
