Heart Rate Zone Vibrations - not happening any more

ANSWERED

I'm not getting any vibrations when going from Light to Moderate heart rate zones. I really need this to work.  I've checked every setting that I can and chatted to support but they weren't very helpful (didn't really check settings).  I'm also not getting alerts through from my phone but I really, really need the heart rate zone notifications to happen. I can't just stare at my fibit all the time I'm exercising.

Hi @FireByFriction

I double-checked the Charge 6 manual. You will get AZM notifications when you reach:

  • Moderate: 1 buzz
  • Vigorous: 2 buzzes
  • Peak: 3 buzzes

There isn't a notification when your heart rate is in the Light zone. That's why you're not getting any notification when you drop into the Light zone.

Since you mentioned getting notification when you hit the Moderate zone, it sounds like your Charge 6 is working properly for your AZM notifications.

Hello @FireByFriction

This article explains how to get your heart rate zone notifications: How to turn on/off Active Zone notifications? (<-- click link). Hopefully, this will help you get your AZM vibrations back on your Charge 6.

Thank you for your reply RiekoC. Right I tried again, no joy, then turned all notifications off, restarted, turned them all on again and tested again.  I noticed that when I crossed the threshold from light to moderate, after, probably around 20 seconds, I got a notification vibration and a pop up.  When I dropped back into light I didn't get a notification.  I also noticed that when I examine the chart of the workout the change in colour doesn't correspond to the heart rate zone exactly anyway.  Does that sound normal.. I imagine that I should get notified in both directions. I'll try it again today.

@FireByFriction if you get no notifications and alerts maybe you have a) sleep mode or b) do not disturb modes enabled? Also, if you set custom zone in the app, there will be no zone alerts.

Hello Triletics, thank you I have checked all the settings many times. I just did another workout and got the same as before.  I got a notification from light to moderate and assume would get another one when I get to 126bpm (I don't want to go that high as I'm in recovery) however I'm assuming that I would have needed to stay in the higher zone for a while to get a notification, the criteria for getting the notification isn't clear.   I didn't get any notification when going back from moderate to light. I've attached a screenshot. heart rate 2.png

@FireByFriction I noticed that those notifications eventually "give up" if you change zones often (not sure, maybe to avoid becoming annoyance, in fact that's why I turned off zone notifications, too annoying) but true, they do not come every time when HR passes the threshold.

I will write to their support and try and ascertain how exactly it's supposed to behave.  Previously I turned them off because I only did gym workouts and I was up and down alot and got alot of notifications.  Then I have a heart attack so now I'm just doing light cardio in my recovery period.  So I'm particularly keen on using this device to assist me now.

Thanks to RiekoC and Triletics for their support, much appreciated.   I concur that the Fitbit is working as it should be now. Originally I wasn't getting any notifications and the action I took there was to switch all notifications off and restart then turn them all back on.
