Got a new Charge 6, downloaded app. The Charge 6 shows correct time and date, the app on I-phone displays data off the Charge 6 and indicates the phone and the fitbit are sync'd. But, the fitbit only displays "download the fitbit mobile app". The time is only displayed on the charging display. Swiping down not change message. Restarting did not work. Pushed the button 3 times etc. Nothing happened. The fitbit vibrates when the phone receives a call, which indicates it is sync'd.

To begin, I'd like to mention that you're currently seeing the setup display instructions on your Charge 6. Once you've downloaded the app, press the top left button of the app. This will take you to the devices screen. At the bottom, you'll see the option to 'set up more devices.'
Press it and follow the on-screen instructions.
