This is my first health tracking watch since the original fitbit way back when, although that wasn't a watch. I was just trying this Charge 6 out, but for some reason it stopped tracking my heart rate and thus it could not track my sleep last night, which sucks because that was one of the main reasons for getting this.
The heart rate tracker is not working. Just shows --. I checked to see if turned off the heartrate monitor or put it on DND by mistake. All the settings are correct, but not heart rate. And now that I'm passed the 2 week window to send it back to the Google store, the heart rate tracker is not working.
Anyone know what's going on or know if Fitbit will issue a refund directly, though my Google Store refund window is over by a week?
Thanks

Hello @kofilms
Sorry to see you're having issues with your new Charge 6.
Do you see a green light on the back of your Charge 6? Put your finger over the middle of the back, then lift your finger. If you see a green light, that means the heart rate sensor is working. If there's no green light, then you have a defective device.
Have you tried restarting your Charge 6? You can do this either from the Settings menu on your device or by using the charging cable that came with your device. If you would like instructions on how to do this, see page 53 of the Charge 6 manual (<-- click link).
If you don't see a green light on the back of your Charge 6 & doing a restart didn't work to restore tracking your heart rate, you should contact Fitbit support (<-- click link) to find out what are your warranty options.

Me too! Quite frustrating as it didn't record heartrate for a long walk. Looking at the heartrate stats, it didn't restart monitoring heart rate after I took my Charge 6 off this morning to charge whilst showering. 6 hrs without tracking heartrate, but the green led was on.
Second restart in about 1.5 months. The first was because the battery % was stuck at 100%.
Looks like firmware/software has some bugs. Note: both of my issues appeared straight after charging.
I hope these threads are being monitored by the Dev Team and help! 😊

Mine also stopped showing heart rate after charging.
Reboot did not help.
But re-enabling the "heart rate" toggle in the watches' own settings menu did! No idea how that got toggled off, maybe it's a UI weakness; the UI might occasionally misinterpret a poorly executed scroll swipe as a toggle command.

I have just reset mine again, 2nd time in about 6 weeks.
I’ve had my Charge 6 since Christmas.
My issue wasn’t linked to charging.

I have had my Fitbit Charg 6 for four months. It is unpredictable with heart rate monitoring. Yesterday I was walking to work and the bpm was around 90 and it spike to approx 125 and then dropped suddenly. This has happened on a number of occasions.
I have restarted the device on a number of occasions but the problem remains.

Hello @salper
If you still continue to have issues with heart rate monitoring, you should contact Fitbit support (<-- click link). If they confirm that your device is defective, they should let you know what are your options under warranty.

I think Fitbit shipped a bunch of defective Charge6's and they refuse to own up to it. I have the same issue and been in contact with support for over a week. All they do is send links about how to wear the Fitbit. But all y other Fitbits worked fine.
I returned mine today and got an Apple Watch and it is much superior.

I accidentally let my Charge 6 run out of power two days ago. I left it charging overnight, and it looked fine -- I didn't realize it wasn't picking up my heart rate until this morning when I had no sleep stats!
I restarted it via the Settings menu. No dice.
Finding this post and reading the responses, I checked the green light and didn't see it.
I toggled the Heart Rate feature off then back on via the Settings menu. No dice again.
I went to look at device details in the app thinking I would reset it, then noticed that there is a firmware update. I'm not saying this will fix it, or that it was blocking it, but I will plant to wait and see what the situation is after the new firmware is installed.
--- EDIT ---
The green light is active, and the device is picking up my heart rate after the firmware update. <shrugs/>

Same issue for me with a 6 week old Charge 6. Reset did the trick.

The heartbeat tracker is what indicates the sleep cycle. If you flip your watch over and put your thumb on the back and a green light comes on, it means i The sensor is working, so what I figured out is I have an iPhone. I reset the charge fit then I deleted the app. Reinstalled the app and it started working again.
