I've only had my charge six for a month. The first time I exercised with it everything was fine. Then I started having a problem that it would stop during my workout. I got home one day and found out it stopped my workout right in the middle. The next day it stopped my workout, I started it again, and it stopped my workout again. There is nothing that's pushing my button but something is shutting it off. I ride a bicycle so that arm doesn't do anything while I'm exercising. I noticed there's a button lock on the unit do I have to use that? I never had this problem with any of my other Fitbits and I've been using Fitbits for a long time.

@Capriciouspoet Check if you have auto-stop enabled in the Bike exercise settings. If auto-stop is on, then after 10 minutes of not riding it will terminate tracking (should ask first but who knows).

Auto stop was on. If I turn it off and take a break during my bike riding will I have to pause my workout myself then? That's the most ridiculous setting I ever heard of. Who would want their workout to stop after 10 minutes? I am not liking my charge six very much. I have to restart it all the time or it doesn't show the right stats on the tracker but that's another problem. Funny thing is I never change those settings before and it worked correctly.

@Capriciouspoet auto-stop and auto-pause are two different things. Auto-pause will pause your activity when you stop moving and resume once you start again. Auto-stop will stop tracking your activity after 10 minutes of inactivity. Auto-stop is something I always turn off. Especially, when cycling and want to take a longer break that used to finish my tracking on other Fitbits.

Same thing here - exactly! It’s driving me crazy.

It should DEFINITELY ask first. Who is designing these features???

Thanks for this advice! I relished turning off auto-stop. I’m a bit surprised that it felt a little like fighting back against someone who’s trying to make my life more difficult. No self-respecting designer would find that user feedback comforting.

Thank you. Your response allowed to solve an issue with GPS not tracking location during my walks. I upgraded from a 5 and I didn't realize that each exercise mode has its own settings in the device.
