My new Charge 6 is terrible!

ANSWERED

First, even though I set the app to NOT send notifications, it is constantly showing me pop ups asking me if I want to be sent notifications.  Then, I was on a week hiking trip where we travelled in a van.  Whenever I was driving in the van, the Charge 6 kept adding steps, but I was sitting still.  Finally, when I was hiking one day the Charge 6 decided I was using a rowing machine, but I hadn’t indicated that was an activity I do.  In the end, the Fitbit was useless in keeping track of what I needed to keep track of.  Every time I get a Fitbit, I experience problems.  I had hoped the Charge 6 would be different.  Guess it’s time to try a Gamin or an Apple Watch.

Counting steps when you aren't walking is pretty normal for all pedometers. The devices don't monitor leg motions, they count perceived impact of a "foot strike." Rough roads will always increase step count. I can get 10,000 "steps" by riding a road bike for two hours on the horribly-maintained streets in my town.

That being said. just fifteen minutes into owning a Charge 6, I have to agree with  you. It kept most of the pitfalls of the Charge 5 and added a new pile of problems.
