New Fitbit Charge 6 has swim length entry in miles, not yards or meters

New Fitbit Charge 6 has swim length entry in miles, not yards or meters.  Just updated to the Fitbit Charge 6 from the 5 and to the new app.  Now when I manually go to enter the swim activity it only allows an entry in miles.  Although I can convert yards or meters to miles this is very inconvenient.

Has anyone else seen this?  Have a solution?

Agree: How ridiculous to have entry in miles. Google programers just don't care, absolutely no thought in this. The whole new App is rubbish! You can't now lookup proper weekly or monthly totals.

@4fields yes, this is a problem. I don't think anyone of Fitbit developers uses Fitbit in a daily life. One workaround is to change units to metric system, edit (in kms) and then change back. Another issue I found is that when when you swim ie. 1600m you need to enter 1.6km. Once you input a point the field will go red as invalid but you can still confirm the change and it will work. This is how I update distance because tracker never gets it right.

This is true, and a very good suggestion. But the issue then is all walking distances an now in kilometres. As I'm old school and like miles, I will use a calculator and convert my 25m pool to miles. A bit of a pain. How can Google make such a hash of an App. Graphs are now very poor, no year, or all time (begining). Many thanks for your input.Sent from my Galaxy

@Ger2000 change units only for a time of editing swim, then change back to miles.

That's weird @4fields , my Dashboard to manually log a swim has the option to select yards, meters, or miles. log.swim.JPG

@MattRoxx it's in the mobile app when you want to edit Swim activity recorded with tracker.

That looks like the older app.  Here's a screenshot of the updated entry from the latest app on an Android phone.  Using a Charge 6.  Didn't have this issue with the Charge 5 and previous app.

Manually entering swim info.  Not tracking the swim in the pool with my Fitbit.  Two Fitbit Charge 5's eventually died when I used them in the pool so I just stopped bothering with using them in water.

@4fields   Since you're using your phone, a workaround for you could be to use your phone's browser, go to www.fitbit.com and access your dashboard from the web page, which will allow you to manually enter the distance in feet, meters or miles.

Thanks for pointing out the website. For now it's easier to do the math conversion. Stupid issue really. For them to include the options of yards and meters is just a small programming change and a math formula.
