New Fitbit Charge 6 won't pair or find phone

I had to get a new FitBit Charge 6 as my Charge 5 just stopped working and no troubleshooting could revive it. My new Charge 6 initially paired with my phone but then wouldn't synch with the app and so is still showing as 2 January and the wrong time. I then restarted the phone, unpaired the device and now it won't pair again or do anything at all so still has the wrong time and date, won't synch and when I go into Bluetooth it tells me I need the app to pair the device (even though I have the app (reinstalled twice)). I did all of the troubleshooting I could find including restarting my phone, force stop on the app, pressing the button on the charge cable three times, removing and re-installing the app, turning off bluetooth etc.

Spent two frustrating days having a useless thing on my arm that said it was 2 January and was 14 hours wrong on time. Finally discovered the restart screen on the fitbit itself then go through a number of steps again. No idea which bit worked but it finally synched and is now working properly.

I don't think I will replace this one, will look to a more user friendly (and longer lasting) device once this one stops working

Hi there @FionaCush! A warm welcome to the Fitbit Community!

Thank you for reporting that your Charge 6 wasn't syncing/ pairing properly and for all your efforts. It's great to read that it is working again. I'm sorry that the pairing took so long.

I suggest you follow the steps from these articles in case your Charge 6 loses the connection again: Why won't my Fitbit device sync? and Why can't I set up my Fitbit device?
