No option to edit exercise shortcuts on Fitbit Charge 6

ANSWERED

Today I received my Charge 6 and one thing I've found is there doesn't appear to be an option in the app to edit exercise shortcuts. When I had the Charge 5 the option appeared under profile > connected device and listed under main goal in the app but now it's not there. I've looked in all options and menus and I can't find anything. I'm assuming I've missed something but if anyone has any help with this I'd appreciate it.

Thanks.

Hello @gc81999 & @Dead4Red

As @Triletics mentioned, setting up Exercise shortcuts is no longer an option. However, your most recently used exercises will appear at the top of the Exercise tile. So, you probably will have to manually select & start your exercise for the first time. After that, it should appear at the top of your Exercise tile as a shortcut.

Got mine yesterday and still haven't figured it out either - hopefully this gets fixed asap

@gc81999 According to the manual, Charge 6 has all exercises on the watch. Recently, the shortcuts have been dropped also for older models. When you open the Exercise app, you'll see recent exercises and tap "more" for the whole list. There are no shortcuts (like on Sense 2, Versa 4, etc.)

I’ve found the charge 6 to be such a bummer and regret buying. Between no Spotify, the terrible set up/pairing experience, and now no exercise shortcuts, they’ve made a lot of choices that make me want to return it and just buy a different brand. Who wants to scroll through 40 exercises on a 1” screen?

Best Answer

I do quite a bit of Yoga! It's the last one on the list! Definitely a step backwards. I will request to have it as a feature update.

Best Answer

@DavidNS If you do "quite a bit" of Yoga then most likely you will need to scroll to the bottom only the first time. 4 recently used exercises are at the top of the list. For me, now it's Rowing, Swim, Run, Spin. Run is the one I do mostly so very unlikely it will fall off that list. Rowing most likely will go first as I did it only once today to test Charge 6 HR and not gonna do it anytime soon. Of course, if you do more types of exercises than four something will go off the list but that can't be avoided 🤷. Would be nice to have two lists - recent and favourite but that's not going to happen.

Hello everyone! Thanks for your posts about exercise shortcuts on the Fitbit Charge 6.

Please note that the list of trainnigs will be sorted automatically based on your most selected trainings. As explained above, the more you use an activity, it will be shown at the top of the list. However, there is no way to do this manually. I appreciate your understanding. Wishing you the best when training with your Fitbit Charge 6!

Rodrigo, it's pretty disappointing that we can't manually edit that list. What we would be keen to hear is that you will pass on the feedback about this dropped feature to the design team. It's quite reasonable that people may want to manually order their favourite activities rather than leave it to al.algorithm.

@y2ky Welcome to the forums. The design team is not directly related to the Fitbit community. However, there is a way to share your thoughts about this feature.

The best place to make your voice heard is the Product Feedback board, where you can submit your ideas and share it with other members. The suggestions with more votes are taken into consideration by our developers for new updates or product development. Thanks for your participation.

@mzdov Thanks for your feedback. Please note that the device will detect which trainigs you start the most and will re arrange the list so that your most used trainings are shown at the top. I appreciate your patience. Thanks again!

We definitely should be able to put these in the order we would like or delete ones we don't use.  Please fix this Fitbit!!

@rjwigg1 the last 3 used exercises are moved to the top. We have noticed that the models released over the last few years have removed the option to remove exercises

This was working better before the recent FW update (20001.202.94). Now, it only seems to show one most recent exercise type, at least on my Charge 6.

For example, my last 5 days of exercise have been, in order: Rowing machine, walk (auto-detected), Rowing machine, Weights, Weights. Only Weights and the More button show up in the list for me.

EDIT: This looks to be the Feedback forum post that's most relevant. Vote!

Auto detected exersizes will not show up in this list. Only manually started exercises should be pushed to the top

Yes, please go to the feedback post and vote for this - for some reason there are two posts about this, perhaps mods can have them merged  https://community.fitbit.com/t5/Product-Feedback/Allow-to-re-order-Exercise-app-list-on-Charge-6/idi...

I commented to ask if they could be merged. Good call. The one you posted seems more relevant.

This does not seem to be accurate on my device. I use elliptical and weight training. Every time I switch I seen to have to scroll back through the list to find them. If they automatically went to the top I would be happy with that.
