No option to edit exercise shortcuts on Fitbit Charge 6

ANSWERED

Today I received my Charge 6 and one thing I've found is there doesn't appear to be an option in the app to edit exercise shortcuts. When I had the Charge 5 the option appeared under profile > connected device and listed under main goal in the app but now it's not there. I've looked in all options and menus and I can't find anything. I'm assuming I've missed something but if anyone has any help with this I'd appreciate it.

Thanks.

This is such a bad feature. Had my charge 5 for over a year and it used to be muscle memory to select the right app as they stayed in place. I swap between 3 regularly and used to know intuitively how to get to each shortcut but now they move. Very annoying and a bad UI experience (I'm a software developer). Please give us back the option to keep them fixed.

So is this incompetence or just plain laziness? Eliminating a good quality of life feature for no reason is asinine. What is wrong with Google?

Thank you. Just upgraded from a 5 to a 6 yesterday and it’s just such a dud and will likely be going back.

I totally agree!  Frankly, since google took over fitbit they have changed so many things that were helpful - like NO STAIRS count????  Really!  It isn't a user friendly app any more.  I can't stand updating/changing things on the tiny screen of the watch - why can't I do it in the app on my laptop - that was helpful - to be able to see it on a full screen!

On a side note - it isn't tracking properly either - when I was on vacation and doing a beach walk daily in the active window on the phone it would show the distance and time as I was walking.  Then I hit finish and when it updated to my daily page it was totally different (much less!!!) information - I never had this issue with previous Charge versions nor pre-Google.  I had a Charge 4 (loved it!!!) and had to buy new because the wrist band connector broke - can't be fixed - go figure.  As this is also an issue that was widely commented and complained about you would think they'd fix it in new versions - nope - they didn't.  I won't be buying another Fitbit next time I need to replace.

Yes @GiglioJ no stairs, because of lack of physical space for the required hardware , also stairs counts are the received more complaints than the other feature

As for shorts, the last 3 used shortcuts get moved to the top.

I want to add an exercise type - specifically, Yamuna.  On my old Fitbit I could do this via the web-based dashboard. I understand that is no longer available.  I keep seeing post that tell me I should be able to add an exercise via the Fitbit app but I can't find it anywhere.

This is a really important feature I hope you can tell me how to accomplish adding a different exercise or that you re-add this functionality as soon as possible.

Hello @LQq

Currently, we don't have the ability to add custom exercises in the Fitbit app. This feature was broken awhile ago and I haven't seen a timeline for fixing the problem.

For now, you can submit this issue using the Feedback option in the Fitbit app

  • Tap on your picture in the upper right of the Today page in the Fitbit app
  • Select Feedback in the menu that opens
  • Complete the prompts & submit

Although it's likely that you won't get a reply, the team receives & reviews the feedback reports.
