Not accurate steps at all

The charge 6 is totally inaccurate in steps - I don't wear it at night and this morning when I put it on it had over 400 steps.. I have to set my goal at 20000 to know I got 10000.  As it was a gift  I tried returning it and was unable to as I was told I had to connect to an app and it then had personal information on it.

When you say you were told you have to connect it to an app, do you mean it's not currently connected to the Fitbit app?

Hello @Meena0417

If you are still looking to return the Charge 6, you can erase your data from the device, basically doing a factory reset. See page 53 of the Charge 6 manual (<-- click link) for instructions.

I did delete / reset and they still won't accept a return so I basically have a new watch. I will go back to using Garmin products.
