Hello @bcsurvivor
My apologies if you've already reviewed this information. This help page (<-- click) has the information on auto-detected workouts. You can turn off auto-detect by selecting Ignore for those activities that you don't want to start on its own.

so you are saying i should stop fitbit from tracking my Steps or walks? I want it to continue to track my walk in steps AS IT ALWAYS DID. I do NOT want it to TRACK my walk in feet and inches AND/OR BLOCK THE WATCH FROM SHOWING THE TIME!

Hello @bcsurvivor
My apologies for not understanding your post correctly. I thought you were asking how to stop the exercise auto-detect feature.
If you are doing a walk as your workout, your Fitbit device will track distance as well as steps. If you don't want to see the distance during your walk, I don't believe there's a way to disable that.

@bcsurvivor Your Charge 6 has a feature in the Exercise app that wasn’t on your Charge 5. It starts the Exercise app for the six exercises in the link shared by @RiekoC . The “feet and inches” you are seeing is your pace. Pace is minutes and seconds per mile or kilometer. It is one of the exercise app stats.
If you don’t want to use this feature, you need to disable the Auto-start option in the walk shortcut.

I have been using the 6 for over a month. It never did this before. If Fitbit is changing features they need to have us optr in, not opt out, the instructions make no sense, I see no way to turn this off.

Where is the Fitbit setting?
Is it in my phone app or on the watch?
I'm totally hating this device now after using it for so long with all the new changes.

Welcome back to the forums @bcsurvivor.
Thank you for sharing with us this information regarding your Charge 6. Sorry to see that you are having difficulties.
As indicated by our friend @LZeeW, the Exercise app will show your pace as "feet and inches": note you may see you pace as 17' 38" which means 17 minutes 38 seconds.
Find the option to disable the Auto-start option in the walk shortcut: Can I change how my activities are tracked?
Thanks for your help @LZeeW @RiekoC.
