Replacing stolen Fitbit 5 with a new Charge 6

My Fitbit 5 was stolen. Now I cannot activate my new Fitbit 6 because it thinks the Fitbit 5 is still activated, and I still receive weekly reports, apparently from the person who has The old Fitbit 5.

@bgbussey , A warm welcome to the Community! Thank you for your message.

The only way that you get the information from a tracker/smart watch to your account, is if this gets synced with your Fitbit app. Meaning, the tracker should be around 10 Feet from the phone to sync.

When setting up the Charge 6, the Charge 5 should be removed from your account and the Charge 6 should overtake that place. More about this can be read here:  Add or replace a Fitbit device on an existing account
