Sleep and heart rate stopped working on Charge 6

Hello, for the past week my charge 6 has not been recording any health metrics, sleep or heart rate. Not sure what changed. The app says feature is unavailable. Not sure if this is a known issue or just me. Also noticed only one green light illuminates on back. I seem to remember two green and two green. Any help would be appreciated

Hello @Hawkinmd , @Mardifit

Since you mention that you're not seeing any heart rate tracking, that indicates to me that there's a problem with the optical heart rate sensor, the green light on the back of the device. The Charge 6 has a single green light.

The optical heart sensor is used for sleep tracking and several of the health metrics.

Please check the Settings on your Charge 6 to confirm that Heart rate is turned on:

  • Swipe down from the clock face until you get to the Settings tile (last one) and tap on it
  • Swipe up until you see Heart rate and confirm that it's turned on. If it's not, tap on it to enable

Hi, a warm welcome to the community forums @Hawkinmd @Mardifit

Thank you all the details that you are sharing with us regarding this difficulty with your Charge 6. Sorry to know the inconvenience.

Tattoos or anything else can keep it from tracking your heart rate.

In addition to the suggestion provided by @RiekoC, and if you haven't tried already, restart the device as indicated below:

  1. Swipe down from the clock screen to find the Settings app.
  2. Tap the  Settings app > Restart device > Restart.

If your device is unresponsive:

  1. Connect your device to the charging cable. For instructions, refer to How do I charge my Fitbit device?
  2. Press the button located on the flat end of the charger 3 times with one-second pause between each press. Then wait 10 seconds or until the Fitbit logo appears.

Another way to restart your device is to unplug it, wait a second, and plug it back in. Repeat this process 3 times in an 8 seconds interval and then wait 10 seconds until the device restarts.

Thanks for your help @RiekoC
