Steps while in a gps tracked cycling activity

Charge 6 has started counting thousand of steps while I am cycling. I start biking as a gps tracked activity but at the end of a ride it has also logged thousands of steps. Not sure why the device had started doing this. I've restarted my phone and device. Thoughts for a fix anyone?

Steps while cycling are just from vibrations transmitted through to your wrist, probably a function of the surface you are riding on.

That makes sense. Any fix for the issue?

I don't think so.  I've seen lots of suggestions but nothing implemented, such as turn off step counting when select bike riding, have a general option when to turn off step counting (danger of forgetting to turn it back on).  There used to be some specific activity you could log for a given time period that would erase steps done during that time, but that's long gone.  It was something like "auto ride" because some people have same problem in autos, especially truck drivers.

Yah that's what I was afraid of. May have to look at a Garmin. I know what you mean about driving.  You could go back and log it if you needed to.  This seems more of a major design flaw. It shouldn't let the watch track 2 activities simultaneously.
