I have both, and would like to be able to easily switch between them, i.e. Pixel Watch during the week and Charge on weekends. What is the procedure for swapping devices on the same FitBit account?

Good to know, as I considered the same thing. Charge for simple sport and Pixel watch for going out. Based on the blog post I found it should be possible. Looks like something Fitbit nerfed?
Edit: Based on comments on the Fitbit blog above, it was introduced in 2015 and by 2018 did not work anymore. For me huge blocker as Charge 6, although more precise in heart rate measurement is as step back from Charge 4, which has elevation sensor inside. And I considered switching smartwatch on demand.

@Franzfume I'm sorry, but the only way to do this is to remove one device and set the other up as a new device. If you tap on the devices icon in the upper left > Add more devices > select the device you want to add, you will get a prompt that says the other device will be removed. Follow the rest of the steps. You also need to check your Bluetooth list on your phone settings. You might need to remove a device, so you get your notifications.
