Switched from Charge 5 to charge 6 and did not get 6 mo free premium

Just purchased new charge 6 to replace my erratic charge 5.  However, did not get 6 mo free premium.  When I upgraded I hit replacement instead of new.  How can I get the free premium as my current premium runs out in October?

Hi @M_Thomas2  you'd have to cancel your existing Premium in order to take advantage of any free Premium that comes with the new device.

I did cancel but it runs until October.

I think I was supposed to add a new device and not replace the old one.

Premium goes with the account, not the device. To be sure, get with support

Wow thanks for the help.
FYI google help said that when my current cancelled premium expires in October I will be given the choice of adding the free 6 months then.  Currently Google cannot add more premium membership to an existing premium membership so everything must be on an annual membership basis and therefore cannot extend for more than a year. Hopefully, I will not lose the new Fitbit free premium.
