Or any other free bluetooth locator phone app, but must be done before fitbit battery dies.  Bluetooth range is usually about 30 feet.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.

Fitbit recommending to go download and use some random bluetooth finder app is the most ridiculous thing to me.  Why can't they just include the find my fitbit feature in the app?  The application they refer me to is one of the worst apps I have ever seen or used.  Absolutely crazy they don't have their own locator!

Dear Cosmis Hurdler - Can you explain how the free bluetooh locator helped you find your fitbit?  I think it's garbage. Thanks.

I didn't say it had helped me. A bluetooth locator app will help you only if you are within bluetooth range of your fitbit, and the fitbit battery has not yet died.  I am not defending Fitbit, just quoting from their Help section, and explaining the option(s) if you know the approximate location and the battery is still good.
Actually a bluetooth locator app did help me once when my fitbit was within my house, which is a common occurrence.
As far as 'find my fitbit' within the app, I suppose you would have to have some kind of tracking device imbedded within the fitbit, adding size and expense.  And then you can't just make it ring loudly like a phone; just vibrating, I don't know if it would be any more useful than a locator app. But I'm just thinking off the top of my head.  You could make that suggestion in the Product Feedback forum.

I emphatically agree with Gidgiegoomie. Find My Device finds my Pixel phone and my Sony headphones, so it could and should find a lost Fitbit, too, especially when there are countless reports of the Charge 6 falling off because the wristband isn't secure enough. Ideally, something better than the Tile tracker method, where it just shows Cool to Hot would really help, but I guess asking for an audible beep loud enough to here outside is beyond realistic when neither Find My Device nor FindHub find Fitbits (same app with different names, as far as I can tell, both from Google) even though they can find headphones from a different company.

99.99% of the Fitbit-finder apps offered on Google Play are from dubious sources. I would not risk privacy and security by even clicking the link to most of them. I tried two, and they both operate the same way a tile tracker does, but one was totally worthless, and the other merely inadequate. Besides, I keep getting pop-up notices on my Chromebook that Google Play Store is going away or won't be accessible to me soon or sometime within 2025 or 2026.

I want and all who bought Fitbits deserve a way to find lost Fitbits that comes from Google, so we can trust it, so the functionality is better, and so it's quicker and easier to use. Sudden HR escalation when you realize your Fitbit has fallen off somewhere is definitely not healthy.
