Hi everyone!
I just got my Charge 6 about a week ago, and I also have a Desk/Laptop setup at my treadmill so I can work while I walk. I don't think my Fitbit counts the steps properly if I use the laptop at the same time / if I rest my arms on the desk while walking..
I read online about people strapping the fitbit to the ankle but this can't be the solution right?
My main question is: If I put my phone in my pocket while I work and walk, will the phone sync my steps TO my fitbit properly (not the other way around like it usually is)?
Are there other ways to record the steps properly while resting the arms at the same time, and which solution would be the most accurate one?
Thank you in advance 🩷

Hello @Loryvora and welcome to the Community. Wrist worn fitness trackers 'need' the arm swing that your body makes walking. You won't get steps while working on your laptop -- just like you won't get steps pushing a cart or stroller. Putting your tracker on your ankle is a very easy solution.
You can use your phone to count your steps, but first you must add it as a device. Tap on your device/battery icon in the upper left of your app, then Add phone in the Add new devices section. You will be guided through the set up. I never tried this with a treadmill workstation. But I know that the walking pace is very slow. I've seen people at treadmill workstations and the walking doesn't look as 'bouncy' as normal walking. If the phone's motion sensors can't sense the movement, then try the ankle option. Using your phone as a device doesn't sync as often as just wearing a Fitbit, at least not an iPhone.
Good luck.

Ideally, Fitbit would make it so it can connect to your tread walker. Mine has bluetooth, wifi, and nfc so the options are there but there's no way to get it to connect to my Fitbit to track. And you can't add a treadmill/walker as an option either. I live in the mountains and we're reaching the snowy season. I won't be taking my outdoor walks during work in the winter as much.
