First, please don’t even think about answering this post with “general” troubleshooting advice. I don’t need it! And I certainly don’t want it. I am looking for a solution, not a runaround!
As a technologist, I’ve done all the things front-line helpdesk people say to do. I’ve reset my Charge 6 multiple times, restarted my device, and even “Removed” and reconnected my Charge 6 device. Nothing works.
Background: My home network has 450 mb’s of connectivity. My iPhone’s Bluetooth is “On” with “Share System Notifications” turned on for my Charge 6. I run YouTube Music iOS app version 6.31.2 and have a YouTube Music Premium subscription. I keep my iPhone up to date. It is running iOS 17.2.1, the latest iOS available. My Fitbit Charge 6 Version is 66.20001.202.94.
What is wrong??? This is beyond frustrating to own a device that doesn’t work!!!
Bill

Exactly the same here. I'm still looking around for possible solution. :'(

Thanks, Cris! I am hoping someone at Fitbit can offer me some additional
ideas on how to fix it if it is even fixable by a user.

Any update??? Can someone at Google at least acknowledge this lack of YouTube Music controls from a Fitbit Charge 6 is a problem. Staying silent on this won't make it go away.

Hello once again, @EakchaiV and @WildBill1.
I'm sorry for my misunderstanding guys, you're right, it is actually available.
Can you guys explain this situation in detail, please? Like, do you get any kind of error message when trying to open the app or at some point it doesn't function well?
This will help me to further investigate this situation.

I appreciate your most kind reply, Cris! From my original post on 12/27/23, the settings I noted have not changed with exception, I am now on YouTube Music version 6.37.1 (latest) and iOS 17.3 (latest). There is no error message per se. When I attempt to launch YouTube Music from my Charge 6, it tells me "Finish setup to listen to music 'OPEN ON PHONE'" which I do. This message persists no matter what I do. Quite frustrating.
I should note having owned the original Fitbit Charge, then a Charge 2, and then a Charge 4, and now a Charge 6, I would consider myself a Fitbit power user. This not to mention having managed a software support group. So you are not dealing with a whiny user who lacks an understanding of how an app is supposed to behave. 🙂
One final note, the YouTube Music controls work perfectly with my Apple iWatch. And yes, from reading other Fitbit support posts pointing out this ongoing problem, I am a YouTube Music Premium subscriber. PLEASE can this persistent bug be escalated and fixed???
*Missed one item. I am using Fitbit app version 4.09.1 (latest)

@CrisVillaFitbit YouTube Music controls is listed on the full features and specs in the Fitbit store. In my experience, a feature that isn't available on the release date is marked with *Coming soon.

Hello guys, thanks for your responses!
I have edited my first comment in regards the Youtube music controls to avoid misunderstanding, once again, thanks for your understanding and sorry for the situation.
I appreciate your explanation on what is happening here, my best recommendation would be following the steps in 'Why can’t I control music from the YouTube Music app on my Fitbit device?', they will help you in this kind of situations, let me know how it goes please.
Also, you can restart your Charge 6 before you continue trying these steps.

Coincidentally, I’m a technology architect as well, I’ve got two Fitbit Charge 6, both exhibiting the same behavior for any google application pairing. “Something went wrong” is the only message anyone will receive when attempting to control music or maps from their Fitbit. I’ve met all the requisite criteria for version, pairing, apps running in background. This is a bug.

I have the same issue. All the settings are correct, the phone is connected to the app, the YTM set up is ticked as complete but I'm still faced with the persistent "complete setup, open in phone."
No troubleshooting as been of use.

After troubleshooting this for months, with no help whatsoever from Fitbit Support, I found a solution to this problem on my own.
To solve this with an iPhone, first you must enable first enable notifications from the Fitbit app on your iPhone. (Settings > Notifications > Fitbit > "Allow Notifications”). Once "Allow Notifications" is toggled to "On", one can complete the setup of YouTube Music to enable music control from their Fitbit. (After completing the Fitbit setup I turned off Fitbit app notifications on my iPhone as I find these things crazy making. 😊)
I wish I would have found this solution sooner! I do hope this solution helps others who are struggling with this problem.

Thank You WildBill1 - This solved my issue with a Pixel 8. Once I turned on Fitbit App Notifications in the general phone settings I got a Notification to Setup Youtube Music on my Fitbit Charge 6.

There's still another issue. All of my notifications are enabled and all I get from the fitbit is the option to open the YTM app on my phone, which is already running. I get the same fitbit notification on my phone as well, but from there nothing happens.

Glad to see it’s not just me, I have signed up to YouTube Music because Spotify isn’t available on the change 6 which is ridiculous in itself. And then when I go to use it the Fitbit can’t find my phone even though it’s Bluetooth connection, all connection features in apps for phone YouTube and Fitbit are on and I’m playing music on my phone with the app
the money a change costs and it’s struggling to connection to a phone it’s basically sitting on is pathetic
