First, please don’t even think about answering this post with “general” troubleshooting advice. I don’t need it! And I certainly don’t want it. I am looking for a solution, not a runaround!
As a technologist, I’ve done all the things front-line helpdesk people say to do. I’ve reset my Charge 6 multiple times, restarted my device, and even “Removed” and reconnected my Charge 6 device. Nothing works.
Background: My home network has 450 mb’s of connectivity. My iPhone’s Bluetooth is “On” with “Share System Notifications” turned on for my Charge 6. I run YouTube Music iOS app version 6.31.2 and have a YouTube Music Premium subscription. I keep my iPhone up to date. It is running iOS 17.2.1, the latest iOS available. My Fitbit Charge 6 Version is 66.20001.202.94.
What is wrong??? This is beyond frustrating to own a device that doesn’t work!!!

Exactly the same here. I'm still looking around for possible solution. :'(

Hi not sure if it relates to everybody. I had been experiencing the same issues with Fitbit Charge 6. But have since worked out that if I have both the Fitbit app and YouTube app opened on my iPhone at the same time it can find my phone and connect successfully this now allows me to control music on YouTube via fitbit6
If none of the above suggestions work for you, maybe try opening the Fitbit app first and then open YouTube app and hopefully it connects like it does for me . Yes, it is annoying having to do this every time but it’s the only thing I have found that works.
I am a premium user on both apps. not sure if that matters
FYI I’m not technical just trying to help.
Good luck

I have the same problem but with a Samsung Galaxy Note. Google/Fitbit, please fix this bug!
And PLEASE and a "like" button. For music streaming services it is necessary in my opinion.

Phone: S20
Issue: Even when the youtube is setup in fitbit app and it clearly displays the running track, clicking on the app shows a loader and eventually "something went wrong" error after a few seconds.
Solution: Based on the answer from WildBill1, I checked the notification permission. However, it was already enabled. So I denied the permission and then re-allowed the notifications again. Clicked on the youtube app (fitbit) again and it worked displaying the controls successfully.

I have an android and had the same exact problem, I found a separate solution as I think my problem may have been different. I am usually listening to 'Downloaded' music with YouTube Music Premium and fitbit states it does not play Downloaded music. What this also means is that if your app is open on your phone under 'Downloaded' music the fitbit will basically "not recognize" it until you turn it back to 'Library' music rather than 'Downloaded' music. Again this just worked for me and I have an android. I had initially tried all the things support tells you to do and this is the only thing that worked.

This is what has finally worked for me, thank you. Only got this Fitbit cos my Apple Watch is crap and this is more affordable. If the battery life on Apple wasn’t so bad I would never have bothered
