Unable to delete child account and therefore unable to use new Fitbit

Have spent several hours trying to set up new fitbit charge 6. Have tried to delete an old child account from at least five years ago. It is still pending. Until that is removed I can’’t delete the family account. Until that happens I can’’’t set up my new fitbit.

Is there any way to set up my new fitbit?

There appears to be no helpline in Australia. Really poor customer service for a $250 non functioning bracelet.

Hi @Uselessbracelet, welcome to  the Fitbit Community! It's great to have you here!

Let me help you with your account deletion.

If you have followed the instrucions to delete your child’s account in Fitbit, you have 7 days to recover the account if you change your mind. In the meantime, the request may appear as pending. I appreciate your patience.

In the meantime, you can contact technical support by following the instructions below:

- In the "How can we help you?" describe the problem and click “next”.
- Select the wording that best describes your problem, click on "next step".
- You will see some suggested links with some resources. If you consider that you have exhausted all troubleshooting, click on "next step"
- Choose the communication method (Receive a call, call, chat).

Would it be faster if I just delete my own account? Or will that also take seven days?

it seems Fitbit does not want us to use a new fitbit device if we can’t set it up.
