Hello,
I recently bought 5 Charge 6 as gift for seniors. I tried to register one of them using fitbit android app to no avail. Not only that I was charged $39.99 immediately on my credit card. Then I was charged $39.99 again on trying to register a second time. This forced me to call up the credit card company to invalidate the charges. Which in-turn caused new card to re-issue and in-turn caused me to have to change all my accounts that use the same card for auto payment.
SHAME ON YOU FITBIT/GOOGLE FOR DOING THIS! especially when the first 6 months membership is included in new purchase. Can you imagine seniors having to go through all this, and if they are not able to cancel the charge, having $39.99 recurring on their account.
Is there a way to try out a Charge 6 (or any fitbit device) without being charged?
Thanks for your help.

I purchased a Charge 6 last month and ignored the offer of Premium account features, even with 6 months free. I did not activate Premium and at no time did it ask for payment details, and so wasn't and could not have been charged anything. I have no interest in the Premium features as I don't think they're worth the money, and you can't miss what you never had.
One thing of note is that I had to update the Charge 6 (firmware) via the app before it would sync properly and work as it should. The 'update' option was in device settings - tap the icon at the top-left in the app (which shows battery percentage) to get to it.
